Attractive CV is important whether candidate is applying for higher studies or for job. Curriculum Vitae is an outline of a candidate's educational and professional history, usually prepared for job application).

It is also called resume. Experts recommends that the resume/CV should be a brief but informative summary of candidate’s education, employment or volunteer experience, and specialized skills. The layout should be eye-catching and easy to read or scan. It should produce the kinds of questions he wants to answer during an interview.

It is suggested that CV of applicant or candidate should be comprehensive but also concise, as HR of company or college administration needs to know about candidate in simple term.

Indian recruiters said it is not necessary that candidate must limit resume to just one page to make it easy for recruiters to go through it. Resume can stretch to two pages, provided every bit of information that candidate cite is relevant and useful.

Another important information is to mention name and contact details that include current address, mobile number and active email id.All further communication will be made via mobile and e-mail; companies are also sending their offer letters via e-mail now. So ensure that candidate provide only the active e-mail address.

Next part of CV is career objectives. In this section, candidate should mention the position heis applying for in the company or the course for higher studies. In the career objective, candidate can elaborate its dream about career or where he seeshimself in the next five to ten years which shows his commitment to stay.

Then candidates must explain their work experience. If they are applying as a fresher, they do not have relevant work experience. They can talk about their internship during college. In this section, it is not just to mention the time duration and the company where they worked, but they should describe how their input was appreciated by the company.

Training and certification is important part of CV. Candidates can discuss any training program they might have undertaken during college.Many students take certificate programs during summer vacations so they can mention that here as well. Candidates must need to mention Extra-curricular activities. In this section, candidates must mention about hobbies, and sports, music program they participated in their academic period.

It would be good to mention if they are interested in sports, as being a sportsman teaches a lot of good qualities like leadership, teamwork, how to face challenges and how not to be a sour loser all of these can be mentioned as their strengths. Candidates must describe if they are creative and love art and music.It would be appropriate to mention if they play an instrument or paint in their spare time.

In CV, candidates must mention top five accomplishments. They must list outtheir top five accomplishments till date.If they have less than five, it is okay but make sure that these accomplishments are important.

In CV, candidates must explain their strengths. They can mention physical strength such gym activities as well as mental abilities such as their power of concentration, out-of-the-box thinking.Explain how it is relevant to the job to which they are applying for.

Here it is warning to candidates that they must not copy their friend's strengths. Instead they must identifytheir strengths and mention them here.

References: This is very important part of CV. Candidates must give names and contact details of professors and project leader during internship in this section.

It is not recommended to mention the name of father's and uncle's names as reference. This needs to be very professional.If they do not have references, it is alright.

In short, an effective CV should be:
