Fungitrace


Fungitrace (Itraconazole), an effective oral antifungal drug among the available trizole group of antifungal agents, is a well tolerated, even in HIV patients.

In rare cases Fungitrace causes mild side effects such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite and diarrhea. Liver functions of the patients should be caried out in cases where the said symptoms persist for long durations. Hypertension, oedema, headache, hypokalemia are some of the other rare side effects. During pregnancy and lactation Fungitrace may be given if benefit to the patient outweighs the risks if any. In patients with heart problems, Fungitrace should be given with caution.

Doses
Fungitrace can be given at doses of 100, 20 or 400 mg/day in adults. In children, the dose is 5mg/kg body weight/day.

Fungitrace is a prescription medicine and should be taken only with the doctor's advice.
